Beginning January 1st 2017, Independent Living (IL) services for out-of-home care youth will be delivered by Wood County in partnership with CW Solutions. Wood County/CW Solutions will provide services to the North Central Region which consists of the following counties: Wood, Portage, Adams, Marathon, Lincoln, Langlade, Forest, Oneida and Vilas.

The NorthCentral Independent Living Program is located in Wood County Human Services (Map) in the Wood County River Block building.

IL services are provided to youth who are likely to age out of home care by the age of 18 or older. These emerging adults will be provided IL services by their county social worker(s) as well as our IL coordinators, which will be a bridged transition for IL services. Wood County/CW Solutions utilizes a Family Systems, Strengths-Based and Trauma-Informed Care approach with youth.

IL services assist youth in the following areas: education, employment, housing, healthcare, basic living skills, and financial self-sufficiency.
