Director

Welcome to the Wood County Human Service Department’s website. The website has been designed to provide information about the services we offer. We are always interested in receiving feedback on how we can improve our website, so please feel free to email using the address above or call with your comments. We are continually seeking ways to improve.

You may be familiar with the terms “Social Services and Unified Services”. These two departments no longer exist as separate departments. The departments integrated to form the Wood County Human Services Department, this is the background on how that occurred. A study was completed to explore the integration of the Wood County Department of Social Services and Unified Services in late 2010. The Wood County Board of Supervisors approved the study and the Wood County Human Services Department was formed on January 1, 2011.

The Human Services Department is the largest Wood County department in terms of the number of employees and also in the number of dollars overseen. The Human Services Department provides services directly through its employees and through contracting with a number of providers. If you should have any questions please feel free to contact us, we will be happy to assist.
