Mental Health Programs

Unified Services provides Mental Health Outpatient Services to all individuals residing in Wood County. For an appointment, call our Outpatient Clinic receptionist. All appointments are confidential and are held at Wood County Unified Services Building (Map) .

The initial appointment will include a review of financial responsibility with a business office staff member. You will then see a Counselor/Therapist who will assess your needs. They may then refer you into one or more of the programs below.

Individual Therapy: 30 to 50 minute sessions set up weekly, bi weekly, or on an as needed basis with a Licensed Mental Health Therapist. The goal is to provide an individual the tools and resources to overcome their mental health issues.

Children/Adolescent Therapy: At times family members have problems that they just can not resolve or are dealing with major traumas. Unified Services Mental Health Therapist’s are trained in the field of play therapy, Cognitive Therapy, Rational Emotive Therapy, as well as various other modalities to aid individuals in their recovery.

Dual Diagnosis Group: A group for individuals who are dealing with Drug/Alcohol Addiction as well as Mental Health Issues. The group is coordinated by a Mental Health Clinician and an AODA Counselor. The group meets every Tuesday from 3 to 4:30. This is an eight week group; however individuals are encouraged to attend group until they feel their needs are met.

Anger Management Group: In a group setting this is a program for individuals with anger issues. The group focuses on techniques to handle anger in a healthier manner.

Stress Management: Everyone deals with stress. However, in some people’s lives the amount of stress and anxiety can be overwhelming. The stress management group is a support group to aid individuals to develop healthy coping skills to deal with physical or environmental issues that is causing too much stress in their lives.

Psychiatry Services: A referral to our Psychiatrist can be made if there appears to be a current need for medication to aid in resolving Mental Health problems. It should be noted our Psychiatry Services are limited and we do encourage utilization of other physicians in the area if possible.

Alcohol & Other Drug Abuse (AODA) Programs

Wood County Unified Services provides AODA Outpatient Services to all individuals residing in Wood County. AODA Services are conducted at Wood County Unified Services Building (Map) .

If you feel you need help with a drug or alcohol problem contact the Outpatient Clinic receptionist to set up an Appointment.

The initial appointment will include a review of financial responsibility with a business office staff member. You will then see a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor and complete a Drug/Alcohol Assessment. Based on the assessed needs, you may be referred to one of the following programs:

AIRPORT CBRF: Due to drug/alcohol addiction many individuals have housing, employment, or relationship problems. For those individuals Wood County Unified services provides a Community Base Residential Facility (CBRF). This is a program to give an individual a place to stay while they work on gaining employment, seeking grants/aids to attend technical/vocational training programs, and seek out housing. By working with the CBRF staff clients can work toward accomplishing the above. While at the CBRF clients also attend AODA Treatment programs at Wood County Unified Services.

DAY TREATMENT PROGRAM: A five week program to assist the individual and family in building a recovery support system and maintain a life free from alcohol and drug abuse. The group meets on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Fridays from 8:45 A.M. to 12 noon. Clients in this program are also given the opportunity to meet with an AODA Counselor on an individual bases.

INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT PROGRAM: A program to provide knowledge and take the necessary steps to continue the process of recovery. The Intensive Outpatient Program is usually recommended as a program for individuals who have successfully completed Day Treatment and may need further support. This program meets for eight weeks, two times a week. The program is schedule on Monday and Wednesday from 3 to 4:30 P.M.

RELAPSE PREVENTION GROUP: A weekly group for individuals who have had been through an AODA treatment program in the past and want to focus on maintaining their recovery. The group meets every Thursday from 1:30 to 3:00.

DUAL DIAGNOSIS GROUP: This program for individuals who are dealing with Drug /Alcohol addiction as well as Mental Health issues. The group is coordinated by a Mental Health Clinician and an AODA Counselor. Focus of the group is to deal with each individual problem with dual issues. The group meets every Tuesday from 3 to 4:30. This is a eight week group however individuals are encourage to attend group until they feel their needs are met.

JUVENILE DIVERSION GROUP: A Drug and Alcohol education group for adolescents ages 12 to 18. The program focuses on educating teenagers on the negative effects of Substance use. Time is spent dealing with problem solving, negative effects of Alcohol, and strategies to avoid alcohol usage. The program meets 4 times a month from 3:15 to 4:45 (Days vary depending on need).

OWI Assessment

Individuals who have been charged with Operating While Intoxicated are required to complete an OWI Assessment as part of getting their drivers licensed returned. This is a two hour Assessment that is different from a standard Assessment and the charge must be paid in full before the OWI Assessment can be completed.
