What is Wellness?

Worksite Wellness can be defined as "an organized program in the worksite that is intended to assist employees and their family members in making voluntary behavior changes that reduce their health risk and enhance their individual productivity and well-being."

Wellness is an active, lifelong process of becoming aware of choices and making decisions toward a more balanced and fulfilling life. This process can lead to a healthier state of well-being that allows individuals and communities to thrive.

Aspirus Business Health is a proud partner of the Wood County Wellness Program and offers a wide variety of wellness services employees can participate in throughout the year. Wood County Employees have access and are welcome to use the ManageWell Wellness Portal to assist with their wellness goals and activities.

This website features valuable health programs and tools for our employees as well as a central location for storing and tracking their wellness efforts. For example: scheduling annual biometric appointments, coaching appointments, and completing the online health assessment. Additionally, employees may use this website to view eligible activities to complete for points as well as incentives.

Employees can earn reduced health insurance premiums for 2024 and earn up to $150, plus entries into a cash prize drawing each year. All full time and part time Wood County employees are eligible for this incentive and access to the online wellness portal.

In order for employees to be eligible to earn cash they MUST complete and record THREE required wellness activities:

  • Complete a Biometric Screening before March 31, 2023
  • Complete a Health Assessment Questionnaire before March 31, 2023
  • Meet with an Aspirus Health Coach starting in April to review their Wellness Report and set a health goal by June 30, 2023

***Newly hired employees in 2023 may have different deadlines depending on their date of hire and are strongly encouraged to reach out to Wood County’s Wellness Coordinator, Ryan Boeshaar, at 715-421-8428 or Wellness@woodcountywi.gov to determine their appropriate deadlines.

Spouses enrolled in the Wood County insurance may participate, but will not be eligible for any incentives. The biometric screening is FREE and CONFIDENTIAL and will be conducted by Aspirus Business Health staff.
