The Wood County Park & Forestry Department has six shelter buildings available for rent. The shelters are located in the South Wood County Park, Nepco County Park, North Wood County Park, Dexter Park and Powers Bluff Park.

Shelter Reservation Policy

• All shelter reservations are to be paid for within two weeks of reserving. If not paid, your reservation will not be held.
• Cancellation policy: If a cancellation occurs before 30 days of a paid reservation, all but $15.00 will be returned. If less than a month before the reservation, no refund will be made.
• The shelters need to be cleaned before being vacated at 12:00 Midnight. A minimum fee of $100.00 will be charged if the shelter is left dirty and park employees need to clean the shelter after the reservation.
• All enclosed shelters have electronic code entry and you will receive the code with your confirmation letter.
• Shelter reservations may be made no earlier than one year from the date you are requesting. This is calendar dates, not calendar days. Example: If you want to reserve a shelter for June 6 next year, you may not reserve it until June 6 this year. If June 6 falls on a weekend or holiday, you must reserve it on the next working day following the weekend or holiday.
• Shelter reservations will be sent out to the Lead Maintenance Worker and the Camp Ranger with the information on the person and the electronic lock code.
• Enclosed shelter hours are 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 Midnight.
• South Park open shelter hours are 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
